For Every TikTok Video Posted by May 31 Using #TossYourCap, T-Mobile will Donate $5 to JAG, Up to $200,000

Washington, DC, May 14, 2020 – Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG), a national nonprofit serving 75,000 youth across 39 states, including New Jersey, is thrilled to be working with T-Mobile to celebrate this year’s graduating class – a class unlike any other. As graduations are being cancelled, postponed or modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic in New Jersey and nationwide, T-Mobile will help bring the graduation tradition of the cap toss to life…virtually through TikTok. With the #TossYourCap Challenge, students, their families and friends, and other supporters can post TikTok videos with #TossYourCap. For each post, T-Mobile will make a $5 donation to JAG, up to $200,000.

“We applaud T-Mobile for developing such a fun, creative and virtual way to celebrate the class of 2020. While this year’s graduates never envisioned their high school careers ending this way, we honor their resiliency, persistence and optimism during this unprecedented time,” said Janelle Duray, Executive Vice President of Jobs for America’s Graduates.

“JAG is honored to be the recipient of funds collected through the #TossYourCap Challenge. We’re extremely proud of our JAG students, who receive critical training and support from their JAG Specialists to overcome significant challenges so they graduate from high school. And, JAG continues to support them for a full year after as they transition to college, the military, and meaningful careers,” said Donna Custard, President of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “New Jersey and the entire JAG family send our best wishes to the entire class of 2020, wishing them health, happiness and success in their future pursuits.”

As business and education adapts in response to COVID-19, Jobs for America’s Graduates, New Jersey, and our dedicated JAG Specialists are providing ongoing services to 75,000 youth across the country, including New Jersey, so they are prepared for the competitive job market following graduation. In addition to supporting the development of online services for JAG students across the country, funds will be allocated in the form of academic scholarships to those in need.
