In his State of the State message on Jan. 14, Gov. Murphy correctly cited the concern of business leaders about finding qualified workers.
Attracting and maintaining a trained and highly qualified workforce is a long-standing concern of the New Jersey business community. The Governor and his team listened and responded with the 'Jobs NJ' program.
Rather than being a traditional catch-all job training program, 'Jobs NJ' builds bridges to connect students, employers and higher education.
The 'Jobs NJ' program provides students with specialized education and relevant training aligned to specific business sectors. 'Jobs NJ' then works to match these students with employers in those sectors who can offer jobs that will challenge and reward these students.
Implemented correctly, 'Jobs NJ' can be a significant pillar on which we can build the “stronger,” innovation-based economy Gov. Murphy envisions and that we all want.
